It's the home stretch! And a whole new chapter in the world of pregnancy. A lot of new discomforts can come up during this trimester, but I think the most important thing to focus on is your mental and emotional health!
Staying calm and positive throughout this phase have a tremendous effect on your health and experience. You can use Wild Orange for uplifting focus and Lavender to help keep you relaxed and calm!
Fluid Retention: We covered this in the 2nd Trimester issue, but women experience it in different phases so I'll cover it again. The best thing for this is to drink plenty of water! I know it's not ideal since you're already going to the bathroom way more often with the growing baby sitting on your bladder, but water is so important. Add a drop or 2 of Lemon essential oil to your water (always in a glass bottle), for additional support. To help support circulation of excess fluid you can use the Massage Blend, Lavender, and Lemon and massage into your skin with a carrier oil. It's a nice way to encourage your significant other to give you a foot massage!
Muscle Discomfort: Use the Soothing Blend, Massage Blend or Lavender to massage into any areas of discomfort for a natural relief.
Sleep: The Restful Blend was a God-send for me when it comes to sleep! Rubbing a drop or 2 on the bottoms of my feet and the back of my neck help me ease into a peaceful night's rest. You can also make a spray and spritz on your pillow for continual support throughout the night.
Perineum Spray: Using a mix of essential oils as a spray for your perineum can help prepare the elasticity for baby to be born. Any of the following oils can be mixed: Roman Chamomile, Geranium Sandalwood, and/or Frankincense with fractionated coconut oil.This can be used daily, but be sure to pay attention to how you feel in response. These are incredibly sensitive tissues, if you feel and burning or discomfort ease off of this practice.
Hemorrhoids: Most often, hemorrhoids are connected to constipation so be sure to support your digestive health to keep healthy bowel movements by focusing on nutrition and water. Geranium, Cypress, and Lavender can be mixed with fractionated coconut oil and massaged gently to the area of issue. This blend can be used to alleviate and prevent discomfort.
Sugar Level Support: Obviously you are going to want to keep the focus on what you are putting into your body with this issue. Limit the processed carbohydrates you are consuming, especially sugar (cutting processed sugars completely is ideal)! And make sure you're getting enough healthy fats and proteins. You can use essential oils to help support a healthy glucose response, a drop of Lemon and Coriander in a capsule can offer support if needed.
Fetal Position: Spinning Babies is a great resource for exercises and other support with the positioning of your baby before birth. You can also use Peppermint or Myrrh, massaging with fractionated coconut oil in a rainbow motion from hip to hip, rub up and around the top of the belly to help persuade optimal positioning for the baby.
